(NYT28) RABAT, Morocco -- Sept. 30, 2005 -- MOROCCO-FREEDOM -- More than most people, Ahmed Marzouki, pictured in Rabat, Morocco, on July 18, 2005, lived the horror of what often passes for the law in the Arab world. He was locked away for more than 18 years of solitary confinement inside Tazmamart, a desert fortress built specifically for 58 military officers who had minor roles in two attempted coups.
