(NYT84) NEW YORK -- March 31, 2005 -- NY-STADIUM -- In a 14-to-0 vote on Thursday, March 31, 2005, members of the Metropolitan Transportaton Authority agreed to sell control of its West Side railyards in New York to the Jets for about $210 million. Several members said the long-term gains from having a football stadium and convention center on the site outweighed a rival bid that offered nearly twice as much money up front.
