(NYT44) WASHINGTON -- May 22, 2005 -- NORQUIST -- Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, poses in his office with a bust of former President Ronald Reagan in Washington in May 2005. The Justice Department is reviewing records of an advocacy group Norquist started with Gale Norton, now secretary of the interior, after reports that lobbyist Jack Abramoff instructed Indian tribes to give it $250,000. And Norquist's name appears over and over in newly disclosed documents outlining Abramoff's work in the Northern Marianas Islands, an American protectorate in the Pacific, which Democrats are agitating to investigate.
