(NYT4) BALAD, Iraq -- May 21, 2004 -- IRAQ-PRISONERS-4 -- Former Iraqi prisoners work to free their bus after it became stuck on a pontoon bridge spanning the Tigris River near Balad, Friday, May 21, 2004. The bus left Abu Ghraib prison Friday morning and was en route to the prisoner's release point in Baquba. The bus was eventually towed free after a two-hour delay and the journey continued. Over 400 prisoners were released from the notorious prison Friday and were driven on buses to various parts of the country. (Michael Kamber/The New York Times)
