(NYT3) NEW YORK -- July 11, 2004 -- HACKERS-CONVENE -- Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, speaks at the Hope5 computer hackers convention in New York on Saturday, July 10, 2004. Wozniak recalled his TV-jamming days. In an interview before the speech, Wozniak, 53, lamented that people now "think of hackers as terrorists" and argued that this fear had caused the government to give undeservedly harsh punishments to violators of computer fraud statutes.
