(NYT23) NEW YORK -- Feb.14, 2001 -- NY-GROCERS -- Between 60 and 70 percent of the city's roughly 2,000 greengroceries are owned by Koreans, and a majority of their workers, an estimated 10,000, are Mexican immigrants. A dispute, fueled by an aggressive campaign by a local union, has pitted Korean immigrants, no strangers to explosive tensions with other ethnic groups, against Mexican immigrants.
