(NYT13) EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Feb. 11, 2001 -- FBX-FANS-2 -- In its second week of action on NBC, the XFL's preliminary overnight rating plunged about 50 percent to a 5.1, from a 10.3 for its debut the weekend of Feb. 4. The $100 million joint venture between the World Wrestling Federation and NBC seemed to attract fans interested in wide-open, affordable football, and equally interested in cheerleaders whom they hoped would be dressed revealingly enough for the Cleavage Cam. XFL cheerleaders mingle with fans in the stands as they head towards the field at Sunday's game between the Birmingham Barons and the New York Hitmen at Giants Stadium.
