A new mode of transport, GUADALAJARA, MEXICO, SHOCKING FOOTAGE shows a man riding a jet ski through the flooded streets of the San Rafael neighborhood in Guadalajara was taken on September 2nd.
Footage shows the man riding his jet ski down the main street after 40 cm of rain fell in Guadalajara turning the roads into a water park.
Heavy rains caused severe damage to important roads in Guadalajara, Jalisco , including flooding and fallen trees.
“With the rainy season in Jalisco , the state has recorded rainfall that has caused puddles and flooding on the main avenues of Guadalajara,” state local reports.
“One of the areas with the highest level of stagnant water was the San Rafael neighborhood, but instead of being an obstacle for residents, it became the perfect opportunity to enjoy, as if it were a water park.
“The incident was recorded on video, which shows a man driving his jet ski as if he were in the sea; however, the streets were flooded by the rain.
“In front of the spectators, the neighbor took the opportunity to go around several times on his jet ski, until the flood levels completely subsided.
“Due to the rains recorded in different parts of Jalisco, on Monday, September 2, elements of Civil Protection moved to assist the people who were stranded, as well as to respond to reports of fallen trees and flooding.
“Residents of Guadalajara, Jalisco woke up to flooding of up to 35 centimeters on the slopes of 8 de Julio and Washington Avenues, so emergency crews had to close traffic in both directions to avoid accidents.
“Hours later, and in the same municipality, another flood was recorded at the Lope de Vega and England intersection, which forced the authorities to close the road while dredging work was carried out.
“Zapopan was also one of the municipalities affected by the heavy rain that fell during the early hours of September 2. State authorities reported that at least three houses were damaged by flooding, especially in the Miramar neighborhood, where the water exceeded 40 centimeters.”
