Rytuały pogrzebowe w Indonezji - Redux
Pigs for the funeral ceremony or Rambu Solo at Rindingalo in North Toraja, Indonesia. Death ritual is the most important ritual in Toraja. For Torajans, the death is not a sudden, abrupt event. Instead, death is just one step in a long, gradually unfolding process. Late loved ones are tended at home for weeks, months, or even years after death. Funerals are often delayed as long as necessary to gather far-flung relatives. The soul of the deceased is thought to linger around the village until the funeral ceremony is completed, after which it begins its journey to Puya (the land of of souls).
