On Monday, July 10, 2000 at 7.02 a.m. the third and the single working power-unit on the Chernobyl APS was switched off in the course of the heavy shower ( on the photo - left from sarcophagus and pipe). The heavy shower submerged the premises, where security system diesel-generators were placed. Those systems supplied by the high-power equipment of the anti-damage protection of the power block, especially those systems of emergency cooling of the atomic reactor. As a result of flood, the prompt automatic putting into operation of the diesel-generator, in the case of systems crash, became impossible
