Czech state-owned TV reporter Patrik Kaizr lowers a rope from the Newsroom building's outside ledge to receive a food parcel January 4, 2001 from supporters who gathered outside the TV building in Prague, Czech Republic, to watch the evening news on big screen TV's. The journalists have been protesting by occupying the newsroom while continuing their duties since new director general Jiri Hodac was appointed because he has ties to political parties, is incompetent and was voted in only to provide leverage for his political allies in the state owned station. Hodac prevents their newsfrom being aired - satellite and big screens outside tve TV buiding are the only means of seeing real news coverage for ordinary people - about 4000 of them gather there nightly.
