South Sudan, on the road between Waat to Ayod, 1993 The blood shed between the SPLA and its split off factions forced a huge number of people to walk 100 miles from Nasir in Souther Sudan to newly created UN camp in Ayod. The UN felt it would be easier to feed and take care of refugees in Ayod. Of those who survived the walk, over 2000 people died on the walk to the camp.
