Pope John Paul II, helped by couple of Maoris (Polynesian people who were the original inhabitants of New Zealand), tries on a traditional Maori gown which he received in a welcoming ceremony 22 November 1986 in Auckland. The pontiff was visiting from 18 November to 01 December Bangladesh, Singapore, Fiji Islands, New Zealand, Australia and Seychelles East (it was his 32nd International Pastoral visit).
