U.S. Navy sailors from the USS Kidd transport suspected pirates from the fishing vessel where they were captured to the Kidd where they were to be processed, in the northern Arabian Sea, Jan. 6, 2012. Thirteen Iranians whose fishing vessel had been taken over by pirates more than a month ago were rescued by the U.S. Navy, the Pentagon announced. Fifteen men suspected of piracy, who surrendered without a fight, were later held aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis. The military said the Iranians were on their way home.
