This playful polar bear gives a wave to a photographer as it gets a rare glimpse of humans. The curious bear was snapped by Nadia Haq on Ellesmere Island in Canada. The 46 year old retired scientist said, “I did look like the bear was waving to me, but I knew it was trying to stand tall to get a good look at the sled. I think it was a fairly young solitary male, so it had probably never seen humans before.” “Getting this shot was one of my highlights of this trip. I immediately felt a strong bond with the bear. It was a dream come true to photograph polar bears with nobody else around for hundreds of miles.
