Myrtle doesnt look like she is having fun on the ropes, CHESTER ZOO, ENGLAND, HILARIOUS IMAGES show one-year-old Bornean orangutan Myrtle with a messy bed head and a grumpy expression on her face. Images show Myrtle looking slightly disoriented having just woken up from her slumber.  She can be seen playing with her blankets and bedding, snuggling with mum before getting up and ready to start her day. A century ago there were probably more than 230,000 orangutans in total, but the Bornean orangutan is now estimated at about 104,700 and are considered endangered. These powerful images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (53) from Manchester England who was interviewed by mediadrumworld.com. Gary captured moaning Myrtle at Chester Zoo, England on his Canon 80D. “I do love the shots with the really expressive faces and where Myrtle looks like she is heading off for a walk with her backpack,” said Gary. “They do love covering themselves with straw and material. It seems like a security blanket. “The young orangutans stick very close to mum but you can see also how adventurous and curious they are at the same time. “The baby orangutan was staying very close to mum but was having fun with the ropes and hessian material lying around. “She was pulling some great expressions so I had to stay watching for ages as I didn’t know what she would do next. “I love seeing these babies playing and seeing them grow from strength to strength. “They are critically endangered and every conservation success is amazing. “It is just magical capturing these moments. It never gets old and can be different every time. The reason for being a photographer.” ENDS
