Germany, Berlin, 10 March 2016 Syrian refugees, 36 year old former veterinarian Yasser with his wife 28 year old, former teacher, Fardous and daughter three year old Ghazal left their home town of Raqqa on 6 November 2015, arriving in Germany 20 November 2015. Yasser asked that their last name not be used because one of their family members joined ISIS and he fears for their safety and the safety of their family back in Syria. Yasser, Fardous and Ghazal stay at DRK-Notunterkunft at 104 Ruschestrasse or German Red Cross Emergency Shelter, housed in the former headquarters of the GDR Ministry for State Security, more commonly known as The Stasi. The building lay empty for ten years before, in November 2015 it was taken over by the German Red Cross and the 13 story building is now a temporary shelter for 1300 refugees, including 700 children. The building is being refurbished to be able to take 2,500 people. The facility and services it provides costs the German tax payer ??Z1.5 million per month. Robin Hammond / NOOR
