This photo was taken at a 100% Canadian facility: A fully legal, Licensed Producer (LP) of medical marijuana. Broken Coast Cannabis, who's name is inspired by Vancouver Island's rough coastline, is one of the first LP's in Canada (and the world), which falls under the MMPR licensing program. Canadian MMPR permits are highly competitive to obtain and have primarily been secured by big business, sometimes with US backing ? example: TILRAY in Nanaimo, Canada ? due to the high expenses involved in satisfying Health Canada. Broken Coast Cannabis is somewhat of a phenomenon because it was started as an independent operation by co-founder John Moeller, from small-island Gabriola, Canada, and has quickly risen to be one of the best of 33 nationwide legal producers. The Green Rush began in America in 2012 - when selling Marijuana suddenly allowed one to bank cash rather than ending up in jail. At least 26 US states have since legalized medical usage of weed, while at least five have also legalized recreational usage. Canada now hopes to follow suit -- and everyone from mom-and-pop operations to venture capitalists are scrambling to get in. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end of the misguided War on Drugs, which many see as the end of government misuse of tax payers' funds and officers' energy as large scale (expensive) raids come to an end.
