A German TikToker has revealed her eye-opening journey with the viral cosmetic trend, Fox Eye surgery. 23-year-old Nelly Nelnoire from Hanover used to rely on tape to lift her "saggy" eyes but decided to opt for a surgical procedure to achieve a more permanent solution. "I had previously undergone breast augmentation at Clineca Health Tourism Agency in Istanbul and was happy with the results and the overall experience. Trusting the clinic, I chose it again for my Fox Eye and blepharoplasty surgeries," explained Nelly, who has 462k followers on TikTok and over 36.3 million likes. "The Fox Eye lift surgery took about three hours. The healing process takes around three to six months to see the final result. I'm currently eight weeks post-surgery and am healing well." Nelly compared the pain of the Fox Eye surgery to her previous breast augmentation. "The pain is not for everyone and my eyes were very bruised and swollen," she admitted. "I had headaches, especially in the first few weeks, and difficulty closing my eyes in the first few days, but overall, it hasn't been an impossibly difficult recovery. I couldn't play sports or get my lashes done. I had to rest and give my eyes time to heal." Nelly pointed out that the initial lifting effect decreased after the first month but then stabilised. "The lifting did start going down, and I was a bit worried the surgery hadn't worked, but it has lifted back up again. I know that we are all going to have saggy skin as we get older, but at my age, I wanted a fresh, clean look." While Nelly is happy with the results, some critics have likened those with Fox Eye surgery to Mr Spock from Star Trek, while others have warned it can have serious side effects, especially when not performed by reputable specialists. While eye lift surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, has been practised for decades, Fox Eye surgery is a relatively recent development in cosmetic procedures. It gained popularity in the late 2010s and early 2020s During the procedure, the patient remains conscious but the treated area is numbed. An incision is made on the eyelid, starting from the outer corner and extending to the edge of the eye. Excess adipose and skin tissue are removed through this incision. The eyelids are then supported with stitches, and the eyebrows are slightly raised to enhance the eyes' appearance. Patients are usually discharged on the same day. Fox Eyes are considered 'semi-permanent', lasting about one and a half to two years. One significant advantage is that the effects can be reversed if not liked. The procedure can be repeated every two years to maintain its benefits, offering long-term use with minimal risks. As with any aesthetic procedure, Fox Eye surgery carries some risks, including infection, temporary or permanent loss of vision, asymmetry, scarring, and allergic reactions. The most common risk, however, is infection. Nelly stressed the importance of understanding the risks involved. "If you want to get this procedure done, you need to know the risks beforehand because it is a surgery near the eyes," she advised. "Ensure you go to a reputable surgeon and don't be afraid to ask lots of questions. Ultimately, you have to weigh the pros and cons and decide if it's worth it."
