A Lebanese pro-opposition protestor distributes roses on Lebanese troops guarding downtown Beirut during an anti-Syria rally 28 February 2005. Thousands of protestors continued their overnight sit-in on Martyrs' Square in the heart of the Lebanese capital despite a government ban on protests. Hundreds of heavily armed troops aided by police deployed jeeps and trucks to the main crossroads leading to the square, but they were good-natured with the demonstrators, who continue to protest against Lebanon's pro-Syrian government two weeks after the assassination of former premier Rafiq Hariri.
