(799644e) Cat Man 'Ripley's Believe it Or Not' Museum Opening, Trocadero, London, Britain - 03 Sep 2008 A host of British celebrities were at Piccadilly's Trocadero for the official opening of Ripley's Believe It or Not museum of oddball exhibits, amongst them Kelly Rowland, Vanessa Feltz, and Katie Price, alongside a host of other freaks such as the Cat Man, Lizard Man and Bulging Eyes Man. Ripley's Believe Or Not! has brought the weird and wacky to London thanks to 22 galleries of oddities at the newly opened Ripley's in the Trocadero, Central London. Some of the weird and wonderful items on display include a portrait of Robert Ripley constructed from gum balls, a two headed cow, and a portrait of Diana Princess of Wales created from dry lint. Robert Ripley was a US newspaper cartoonist-turned-collector who travelled the world in the 1920s and 1930s in search of the bizarre. He died in 1949 but his global empire of the strange now includes 30-odd 'odditoriums' around the world.
