The macaques enjoy a bath, JIGOKUDANI VALLEY, JAPAN, A TROOP of Japanese macaques enjoying a hot-spring bath have been captured. Images show the macaques huddled together in the water while snow falls around them. Other images show a jubilant macaque leaping into the air about to bomb into the water, while a couple have a cuddle-up on a tree branch and two young macaques have a playfight which descends into laughter. These images were captured by photographer Atsuyuki Ohshima (40) using a Sony ILCE-1(?1) FE100-400mmF4.5-5. 6GM in Shimokita Peninsula and Jigokudani Valley, Japan. “Monkeys protect the baby monkey from the cold in the winter,” said Atsuyuki. “Monkeys survive the winter by eating tree bark and shoots. “Child monkeys never forget to play even in the winter. “Parent and child monkeys take a hot spring. “This is just after the blizzard. “I like this photo. It shows one of the symbolic moments of the snow monkey. “Monkeys that survive the harsh winter are beautiful. “They have rich facial expressions, behaviors and gestures like human beings. “The best thing about winter photography is wildlife living in a snowy landscape.” ENDS
