(FILES) In this file photo taken on November 6, 1956 Anglo-French troops patrol in a street of Port-Said during the Suez Crisis. An Anglo-French intervention had been launched after Egypt's President Nasser nationalised the Suez Canal on July 26, 1956. In the end of December, diplomatic action by the USA and the USSR forced Britain and France to withdraw and Israel to relinquish the Sinai peninsula which they invaded in October. - As the Suez Canal marks its 150th anniversary, Egypt which nationalised the crucial international waterway in 1956 can boast of its modern-day significance to the country's economy. The canal, which links the Mediterranean to the Red Sea, was opened to navigation in 1869 and was expanded in 2015 to accommodate larger ships. (Photo by Aime Touchard / AFP)
