In a photo provided by the U.S. Army, Elie Wiesel, seventh from the left in the middle bunk, shown with others at the Buchenwald concentration camp in 1945. Nearly half of Canadians cannot name a single concentration camp or ghetto that existed in Europe during the Holocaust, a new study released in 2019 found. Only 23 percent of survey respondents were familiar with Wiesel, who would go on to write "Night" and receive the Nobel Peace Prize. (U. S. Army via The New York Times) -- FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY. --
