In a handout image, a recently declassified government document from the commander for American operations in the Pacific, Adm. Ulysses S. Grant Sharp Jr., states to "discontinue all planning for Fracture Jaw," on Feb. 12, 1968. "Security of this action and prior actions must be air tight." The documents reveal a long-secret set of preparations by the commander, Gen. William Westmoreland, to have nuclear weapons moved to South Vietnam to prevent defeat in a key battle. President Lyndon B. Johnson refused. (Handout via The New York Times) -- EDITORIAL USE ONLY --
