FILE -- Anatoly Lein, a Russian-born grandmaster who emigrated to America, contemplates a board at the Manhattan Chess Club, July 15, 1976. Lein, who was among the world's top 30 players at his peak, recording victories against some of the game's greatest players, died in Cleveland Heights, Ohio on March 1, 2018. He was 86.
