Reproduction made 29 December 1988 in Cairo of an undated photo of Palestinian guerrilla chief Abu Nidal. The Fatah Revolutionary Council denied 23 August press reports that its founder had been arrested in Egypt and was in the hospital, dying of cancer. Abu Nidal, which is the nom de guerre of Sabri al-Banna, and the Council have been blamed by the US government for killing or injuring almost 900 people in attacks in 20 countries since 1974.
