FILE-- Roger Ailes, the co-founder of Fox News, during a broadcast from the network's studios in New York, Jan. 11, 2002. Ailes, who built the network into a conservative empire and became a kingmaker for the Republican Party before being pushed out last summer, died on Thursday, May 18, 2017, according to a statement from his wife, Elizabeth Ailes, that was published by Fox News.
