Bruno Richard Hauptmann arraigned in Bronx County, New York, Oct. 11, 1934 on a charge of extorting $50,000 in Ransom money from Col. Charles A. Lindbergh, but the charge was dismissed so that an extradition warrant could be served on Hauptmann. The state of New Jersey has indicted him for the murder of the child, and governor Lehman of New York has signed the extradition papers. Hauptmann???s attorney sought to prevent his removal to New Jersey and October 15 was corpus petition. (AP Photo)
