Ten thousands police officers, including over three hundred women and supported by thirty police dogs took part in the first Royal review of Britain???s police to be held for 19 years when Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh attended the great police parade at Hyde Park, London on July 14, 1954. Representatives from all over England; from Cornwall; Wales; Scotland, and from Northern Ireland marched past the Queen in a great column made up of thirty-seven sections.
