Under the left arm-pit of Col. Charles A. Lindbergh, there is a compact holster in which he carries a gun at the Hauptmann trial, in Flemington, New Jersey. This photo, made on Jan. 3, 1935, show Col. Lindbergh on the steps leading to the library in the Hunterdon County courthouse, where Hauptmann is on trial for kidnapping and killing the Lindbergh child. Perhaps the reason the famous aviator never wears a vest is because of the gun which he began carrying five years ago, after many threats against him. (AP Photo)
