This happy smile was President Franklin D. Roosevelt's reply to the ovation he received at Fisk University, Negro College at Nashville, Tenn., when he and Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt stopped there on Nov. 17, 1934. The Roosevelts were also visiting Andrew Jackson's old home. The President and first lady listened to Black spirituals during their brief visit to Fisk. (AP Photo)
