Firm-faced, Richard Whitney, expelled member of the New York Stock Exchange who has pleaded quality to two grand larceny indictments, is shown as he was sworn in as a witness in the Attorney General???s probe in to the failure of his brokerage firm. In his testimony at the Attorney General???s of ice in New York, on March 21, 1938, Whitney admitted full responsibility for his firm???s failure and it was brought out he had obtained a personal loan of $1,082,000 from his brother last November when a financial crisis threatened.
