An Auxiliary bridge to take the rail traffic from Dirschau, in the former polish corridor, into the city of Danzig, on Oct. 18, 1939 is shown being constructed by German army engineers close to the steel structure which was dynamited by the retreating poles during the German invasion. The Auxiliary bridge was to connect that part of the old structure which was left intact in the right can be seen the which will be rebuilt at some later date.
