AP Historical Hard Drive 2008
It was the turning point of the game, according to Milwaukee manager Fred Haney, when Braves left fielder West Covington made this spectacular catch of a second inning drive by Yankee pitcher Bobby Shantz in New York on Oct. 4, 1957. With one run in and tow men on base, the Yanks had visions of a game-winning rally - but Covington's catch changed all that. The Braves went on to win, 4-2, to even the World Series at one victory apiece. Note the ball in the webbing of Covington's glove. (AP Photo)
