Van Loan, right, poses with writing partner Crane Wilbur after he was a charge of contempt against him in connection with a court order directing his payment of back alimony to this former wife, Gertrude Van Loan, was dismissed at Los Angeles, June 7, 1934. Van Loan told the court he had no funds but was collaborating with Wilbur on a play soon to be produced in New York and expected returns from it.
