An April 1927 aerial image of the airfield in Dusseldorf. At right is the village Lohhausen and in the back the river Rhine. The large building left is an old refurbished German air force barracks, the small building next to it housed the restaurant, Airport administration and Airline offices. April 19, 1927 the German Lufthansa started its operation here with three planes starting with the routes Dusseldorf-Hamburg, Essen-Dusseldorf-Geneva and Dusseldorf-Berlin. 1927 there were 900 takeoffs and landings and 1618 passengers passed through here.
