The city of Belgium has suffered very little damage as the result of World War II. The twin towered cathedral is St. Gudule, and the massive building which towers above the city is that of the Palace of Justice which the Germans endeavoured to destroy by fire when they evacuated the Belgian capital. Most of the picture joins up in a sweeping view of the city skyline of October 24, 1944. (AP Photo/Eddie Worth)
