Printmaker Julian Cox inks and prepares an etching for printing the way Dutch master Rembrandt would have Wednesday, March 3, 2004, at the Art Institute of Chicago. Cox and some other printmakers are using the occasion of the Art Institute's Rembrandt van Rijn show to demonstrate how the Dutch master replicated his pictures on the printing press. Using equipment and techniques Rembrandt might have used, they are taking visitors back to a simpler, though more painstaking, day. (AP Photo/M. Spencer Green)
