The Royal Air Force has its own navy. It consists of sixty three feet long high-speed motor launches capable of more than 35 knots. The launches are manned by the Air Forces own sailors. Time and again they have to dash through gales and heavy seas, searching for an airman in a rubber dinghy. Many airmen friend and foe, owe their lives to this service.
