Tests of the new table-type indoor air raid shelter a two storey house was brought down by explosives to reproduce the collapse of such a house caused by a heavy bomb falling close by. One of the new shelters was in the one the ground floor rooms. Application for the issue of these shelters free of charge for those with income under L350 a year, and for sale to those whose incomes are above this limit, can now be received by local authorities in areas likely to be the object of heavy air attack.
