With the triumph of the monarchists in the Greek plebiscite, it became possible to release the monarchist political prisoners who lain in gaol under the republican regime. The prisoners were hailed as heroes as they left the prisons, and were accorded salutes by military guards of honour. In high spirits, monarchist political prisoners await the moment of their release from an Athens gaol, one of them triumphantly displaying a picture of King George on Nov. 22, 1935. A few minutes later they were outside, free, and being congratulated. (AP Photo)
