Tourism In Greece - Sunset at the Old Venetian port of Chania. Tourists, visitors and locals enjoy the sunset behind the Chania lighthouse, as the sun is setting over the Aegean Sea in the Mediterranean. The lighthouse was built in 1864 by the Venetians. Silhouettes of people are seen having drinks at seaside bar in the harbor, sitting on a bench or walking in the port and the lighthouse area. Tourism is bouncing back with reservations overpassing the pre-pandemic numbers and the island is reaching full touristic capacity, putting Greece and the Greek islands on high demand and boosting the local economy in arrivals and revenue. Tourists travel after the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic. During the 2022 summer Europe and Greece are facing long arid periods with heatwave.
