7236297 Portrait of Hendrik van der Borcht, 1817 (etching) by Girtin, James (John) (c.1780-after 1820); Private Collection; (add.info.: Portrait of Hendrik van der Borcht, 1614-1666?, German painter, draughtsman, and printmaker, son of Hendrik van der Borcht the Elder. Taken into service by Thomas Howard, 2nd Earl of Arundel in 1636, and keeper of his collections in London until 1654. Probably died of plague in 1666. Henry Vander Borcht. Caption mistakenly refers to his father. Tinted etching within a decorative border by John Girtin after an engraving by Wenceslaus Hollar from John Girtin’s Seventy-Five Portraits of Celebrated Painters from Authentic Originals, J.
