General VIew of the Grand Carousel, given by Louis XIV in front of the Tuileries, Paris, France, 5th June 1662, to celebrate the birth of the Dauphin. Taken from the stands which had been erected in front of the east facade of the palace of the Tuileries. On the right the Medicis gallery with the old tower facing the tower of Nesle, on the left the district of the Rue Saint Honore opposite the mansions of the Rue Saint Nicaise which then separated the Louvre from the Tuileries, at the bottom the Louvre.
