Regatta Island.-An important gathering of amateur oarsmen takes place at Henley every year on the occasion of its annual Regatta, about july ; then, the mile and a quarter between this island (which is the starting point) and Henley Bridge is thronged by so numerous an assortment of steam launches, skiffs, gigs, punts, dingeys, canoes, and .every other descripion of boat, that makes it difficult to keep the course clear for the races. The old summer house, standing alone at the head of the island, is at all times a con?? spicuous object.
