APRIL 10 2011 PHOTO
This April 10, 2011 photo shows a battered patrol car amongst tornado debris in Mapleton, Iowa. Police officer Tony Davis said he was picked up and tossed about 150 feet while driving this car through the large tornado that destroyed homes and buildings on its weekend rampage through this small western Iowa town. Authorities say the 15 minutes of warning given to residents of Mapleton were key to preventing any deaths or serious injuries when a tornado destroyed more than half the community.
