Wyszynski was a primate of Poland during the communist rule (1948–1981) and was instrumental in forming the Polish democratic opposition. Czacka was a Polish nun who founded the Franciscan Sisters Servants of the Cross as well as a Society for the Care of the Blind, which was a forerunner in education of blind people in Poland.
