On August 11, 2021 lower chamber of Polish Parliament - Sejm passed an amendment to the media law dubbed "Lex TVN". New law states that media outlets in Poland cannot be owned by entities located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). TVN is owned by American company Discovery. To take effect the new law has to be approved by the upper chamber - Senat and signed by the president.
