On May 10th, 1893, this locomotive, (#999), hauled the Empire State Express on its world speed record run from New York City to Buffalo, supposedly reaching a top speed of 112.5 mph. It was designed by William Buchanan and exhibited at the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893 and the Chicago World's Fair during 1934-1935, among other places.
